The last time the series visited the 1.9-mile Leicestershire circuit, Radical Works Team driver James Abbott scooped both wins. However, with Abbott progressing to the Dunlop Radical UK Cup this year, it’s anyone’s guess who will walk away with the silverware come Saturday evening.
Amongst the prime candidates must be Prosport Class competitor Martin Brooks, who narrowly missed out on victory at Donington last year and will be looking to make amends, ahead of rival Prosport competitor, 2011 class champion Mark Abbott.
If the UK’s current weather continues through into the weekend, expect the Supersports class runners, with a larger aerodynamic footprint, to be toward the front of the field. Amongst them will be the aforementioned Bell, as well as Snetterton podium finisher Bradley Smith and Radical co-founder Phil Abbott. Radical welcomes a number of newcomers to the paddock on Saturday, including privateers Miles and Ross Drew (SR3 RS), Mansol Motorsport’s Frederick Girling, and Will Brown, flying the flag for the Radical Owner’s Club.
The action kicks off at 10:20 with qualifying, followed by two action-packed sprint races at 12:40 and 16:30 respectively. Keep up with the action on Twitter by following
