Plenty of good news from Radical, manufacturer of some of our favourite trackday tools. Bucking the trends of the current climate, it has announced record sales, a big turnover and plenty of orders in the bag for 2009.
In 2008 there's been 120 cars sold leading to a £10m turnover, and there's 40 customers with an order down as they await their car.
Radical's range has also seen a host of updates, with the SR8 in particular gaining a stiffer, crash-tested chassis - improving safety and handling - while the steering is uprated and it comes complete with a 460bhp V8 that should see it smash the SR8 concept's unofficial sub-7min Nordschleife time, apparently.
The SR3 Supersport, Radical's best selling car, with more than 400 produced so far, also gets a host of revisions, with a revised chassis to comply with FIA production sports car safety standards, and a new front aero package to boost downforce. New Powertec Suzuki engines also gift the SR3 extra power.
The Radical SR5 Endurosport gets chassis and engine tweaks while the SR4 - evo's Trackday Car of the Year 2004 - gains a new variant with a 150bhp powertec engine which takes the price below £25k.
