CAD/CAM Manufacturing Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

Radical Precision Engineering is currently looking for a Dynamic & Skilled individual to help support our Engineering team.

Here at Radical Precision Engineering - We produce precision machined components to meet the demands of our Sportscar Assembly at Radical Sportscars as well as the manufacture of precision components for our external sub contract customers.

Parts are typical produced from a Range of materials from Mild steel to stainless steel to include Aluminium.

The suitable person will be someone who is able to utilise and program our CNC Milling Machine tools using “ONE CNC” software and be able to demonstrate a level of competency/proficiency to enable that programs are utilised with efficiency and best practice machining strategies.

We use a variety of CNC Milling Machine tools with Haas,Heidenhain and Fanuc controls.

This role is to provide ongoing support to our shopfloor personnel and aid production output of products to include NPI/NPD/Prototypes and batch work

Scope to include

  • Setup and establish processes for manufacture to work along Shopfloor milling personnel
  • Production of CNC Machine Tool Programs
  • Best Practice and machining strategy to support efficient production output
  • Assist production personnel to maintain output- duties may include CNC milling machine setup and running of machines tools where necessary to aid production.
  • Experience with HAAS,Bridgeport and Toyoda machine controls is required

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum HNC or

Preferably Degree Educated in an Engineering/manufacturing discipline or suitably experienced time served engineer in precision engineering field.

CNC MILLING SETTER

Quality/Manufacturing Engineer

Reports to: RPE General Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

Scope to include

  • Setup and establish processes for manufacture to work along Shopfloor milling personnel
  • Production of CNC Machine Tool Programs
  • To assist with best Practice and machining strategy to support efficient production output
  • Assist production personnel to maintain output- duties may include CNC milling machine setup and running of machines tools where necessary to aid production.
  • Generation of CMM programs to ensure inspection of products can be carried out in an efficient & timely manner.
  • Gauge control & calibration.
  • Non conforming products  – control of Rejects / scrap & Reporting – both internal & external
  • Assist Line manager as necessary in day to day running of facility – this may include using business operations software.
  • Generation of Inspection reports/Quality control Plans
  • Inspections to include - 1st off / Patrol / Last off / Goods Inwards / Despatch
  • To assist with Assembly of Products – tooling moulds
  • Experience with HAAS & Bridgeport Machine controls and CMM MCOSMOS  is required

CNC Lathe Section Supervisor

Reports to: General Manager RPE

Duties and Responsibilities:

Radical Precision Engineering is currently looking for a Dynamic & Skilled individual to help support our Engineering team.

We use a variety of CNC Lathe Machine tools with Fanuc controls.

This role is to provide Supervision to support our shopfloor personnel and to aid the output of products to include NPI/NPD/Prototypes and small Batch work

Role Duties to include

  • Setup and Operation of CNC Lathe Machines
  • Daily Creation and backing up of CAD/CAM/Machine programs and programming both on and offline using both machine tool controls and ONE CNC CAD CAM Software.
  • To ensure that Metrics and productivity/efficiency targets are met.
  • To ensure,  the safe operation of Lathe machinery within the department at all times – interlocks and guards are working prior to hand over to turning section personnel.
  • Housekeeping and Best Practice disciplines
  • Must be a team player with ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to read Technical drawings and use a variety of inspection equipment to include
  • micrometers , verniers and gauging.
  • Experience with Fanuc machine controls is required and a knowledge of manual lathe machinery would be beneficial.
  • Experience of Star Sliding head machinery would also be greatly advantageous.
  • Able to assist the General Manager with reasonable tasks on request which may not be included in this description and to provide a good consistent level of supervision.
  • Must be conscientious and have a good work ethic as will be the leader for the turning Section.
  • To be reliable Honest, trustworthy and act with integrity.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Preferably HND in Engineering Discipline or Min NVQ LEVEL 3 Engineering/Manufacturing discipline with suitable experience as a time served engineer in precision engineering field.
