The 2020 Blue Marble Cocktails Radical Cup season will commence at Road Atlanta, April 9-11 and culminate supporting Creventic's 24H Series at Circuit of the Americas, November 12-14.
The announcement comes just weeks after the curtains closed on another strong year for Radical’s premier North American series. Professional teams from IMSA and Road to Indy including Cameron Racing, Moorespeed, Newman-Wachs, One Motorsports and Turn 3 Motorsport helped swell the grids, which averaged 25 cars in 2019. Supporting IndyCar for the first time at Road America, Radical Cup set a record starting its largest ever field of 38 cars. The season then ended on high with all three races broadcast across the internet complete with commentary from Radio Le Mans personalities John Hindhaugh and Shea Adams.
Confirmation the series will once again star alongside the Creventic 24H Series at Circuit of the Americas ensures live broadcasts will continue to be a feature of the Radical Cup.
“The 2020 season will undoubtedly capitalize on the growth and success the Blue Marble Cocktails Radical Cup North America series has seen this year,” said Radical Sportscars North American manager Tom Drewer.
“After a late switch to SCCA Pro sanctioning for 2019 we managed to put together a stellar calendar combining bucket list tracks and high-profile events. We’re excited to be able to do this same in 2020, which will include new experiences for our returning racers.”
Road Atlanta will be one such new experience. Radical Cup last visited the home of Petit Le Mans in 2017, and next year will share the bill with Formula Race Promotions and SCCA Pro’s F4 and F3 Championship. Held on Easter Weekend, the event will be run Thursday through Saturday to ensure families can still spend Easter Sunday together.
The remaining four rounds of championship will be announced shortly.
