Leading British sports racing car manufacturer, Radical Sportscars confirms Marcassus Sport, the leading specialist sports and track day car retailer, as a new official distributor for the whole of France.
The appointment continues the global expansion of Radical’s dealer base over the last 12 months with new partnerships also established across Poland, Western Canada, Georgia USA, South Korea, Israel, Dubai and the Iberian Peninsula.
Marcassus Sport will join all Radical partners in supporting the six-strong product range including the entry-level SR1, global bestselling SR3 RSX, recently-updated SR8, the RXC GT, GT3 and Spyder premium models.
Headquartered in Toulouse with a premier satellite facility in Bordeaux, Marcassus Sport will cater for new and used Radical car sales, and car parts. Radical-trained technicians will also provide servicing across the range of road, race and track day models from the world’s largest sports racing car manufacturer.
Established in 1989, Marcassus Sport has a long and distinguished track record in supporting owners of specialist sportscars across France. In 1995, the company became the first Lotus dealership in continental Europe, and it has represented both the Caterham and Morgan marques since 2007 and 2012 respectively.
With an engrained passion for motorsport, Marcassus support campaigns across the sportscar echelons all the way to LMP2, with accolades including the 2015 Lotus Cup Europe outright championship honours.
Since its 1997 inception, Radical has firmly established itself as one of the largest producers of racing and track cars in the world, selling over 2,000 cars globally in the past two decades.
The marque’s official single-make championships operating across four continents offer an affordable entry-level and progressive ladder for prototype-style sportscar racing for rookie and professional drivers alike. Entering at the SR1 Cup, drivers can climb the ranks with the fiercely competitive SR3 RSX, right through to Europe-wide competition with the RXC Spyder and SR8.
Over the last 20 years of competition, including participation in five 24 Heures du Mans races, Radical has established an enviable reputation in France, arguably the spiritual homeland of endurance sportscar racing.
“It’s a great honour for Marcassus Sport to represent the Radical brand in France and we want to thank Radical once again for the trust they have put in our skills,” said Marcassus Sport Managing Director, Sacha Marcassus. “We will strongly support this leading international sportscar brand, through the creation of a French network to support all Radical customers. We look forward to meeting the many owners already in France, to support all of their track activities, and enjoy the outstanding performance of the Radical range of cars.”
Joe Anwyll, Radical Sportscars CEO, commented: “I am delighted to welcome Sacha Marcassus and his team into the Radical Sportscars family. I greatly value his enthusiasm and in-depth knowledge of the market and motorsport. I am sure the partnership will be a great success, firmly establishing Radical in France - a country with world-class motorsport heritage.”
