It’s the final countdown to the inaugural Radical SR1 Shootout at Rockingham Motor Speedway next week, 9th-10th October, where 50 contestants will go head-to-head to win one of the biggest prize funds in British motorsport worth over £45,000. Each contestant will be put through their paces through a series of high-level assessments including a Radical SR1 track test, front and rear-wheel drive skid pan session, simulator evaluation, fitness assessment provided by the Porsche Human Performance team, plus media evaluation.

A specialist team of sportscar racing stars, motorsport journalists and Radical management will select the ultimate all-round applicant to become a fully-fledged Radical Works Driver, on their way up the Radical racing ladder.

Panellists include Motorsport News Managing Editor, Rob Ladbrook; LMP3 UK Champion and SR1 graduate, Colin Noble Jnr; British GT Champion, FIA GT, British GT4 and Dubai 24 Hours race winner and Radical SR3 European Champion, Bradley Ellis; in addition to Radical Motorsport and Engineering Director, Alex Mortimer, and Radical Marketing Director, Nigel Land.

The first ever Radical SR1 Shootout winner will be announced on Wednesday 18th October.

For the 2018 season, the SR1 Cup will be open to all non-professional senior MSA licence holders, while retaining a novice class, providing the perfect platform for seasoned saloon car and single-seater racers, karting graduates and novices alike.
