Entry for Radical Sportscars’ premier UK domestic sportscar championships for 2019 – the SR1 Cup and Radical Challenge – is now open, with a raft of incentives and fantastic packages on offer to reward early-bird and season-long commitment.
Outstanding incentives include fees for the entry-level SR1 Cup frozen at 2018 prices. For Radical Challenge, competitors signing up for the full season up front can save over £700 on last year, on top of a complimentary set of Hankook tyres at the first round and additional season hospitality pass, equating to a further £1700 in benefits.
Radical’s completely overhauled entry portal makes registering for the British manufacturer’s highly competitive championships easier than ever, putting teams and drivers in control of their personal profile, data and payment processing. From the user-friendly dashboard, registered users can not only secure their place on the 2019 grid, but book everything from testing to hospitality.
For 2019, the SR1 Cup for the 1340cc 182bhp SR1 racer will again provide unrivalled performance for the budget of both novice and experienced drivers alike. The popular six-round calendar features qualifying and two 20-minute sprint races staged in an efficient one-day format, containing costs for teams and drivers.
The series’ ever-growing grids can be partly attributed to Radical’s novice-friendly race training programme, which takes newcomers through the process of attaining their race licence, before providing bespoke professional tuition ahead of their racing debut, and throughout the season.
The SR1 Cup 2019 opens with a return to support the British GT Championship at Oulton Park for the second year in succession, before drivers tackle world-famous tracks such as Silverstone, Donington Park and Snetterton.
With entry fees held at 2018 prices, a full season SR1 Cup package costs just £5,200 + VAT. For full details click here
Born out of the Peterborough marque’s longest standing UK series, the Radical Challenge continues to be one of the country’s most hotly contested domestic championships. Returning with a seven-round, 21-race calendar for its best-selling SR3 RSX model, the 2019 series offers competitors a 20 per cent increase in track time and a revised format.
In direct response to the extensive consultation and feedback invited, the Challenge race weekend will feature a 20-minute qualifying session, two extended 50-minute endurance races with compulsory pit stop, plus a 20-minute sprint battle across a condensed two-day format.
Kicking off on the Donington Park National circuit, the series will again take in a host of legendary circuits, including Silverstone and Brands Hatch’s grand prix layouts, plus Oulton Park, Snetterton, and a showpiece summer ‘festival’ visit to Spa-Francorchamps.
Despite the increase in racing action, a revised pricing structure designed to reward loyal customers means even better value and a reduced cost for early commitment.
A full season of Radical Challenge racing will cost £8,225 + VAT, when paying for the season up front ahead of the first round – a saving of over £700 on 2018. Those taking the early bird package will receive a complimentary set of Hankook tyres at the first round, plus an additional season hospitality pass, notching up a further saving of over £1700. Drivers who enter every race, but pay on a race-by-race basis, will receive a free set of Hankook tyres at the final round. For full entry packages and fees click here
Carly Latcham, Radical Championship Coordinator, commented: “We’re really excited to launch our activity for 2019. At the end of last year we made a concerted effort to consult with our teams and drivers. We’ve taken in all the feedback and have done our best to make some significant changes to ensure we are offering what they want, and the launch of the new online hub makes it easier than ever to enter our championships.
“We have two great championship calendars, offering lots of track time and attractive packages to match. There’s never been a more exciting time to join the Radical paddock!”
